Beginner’s Guide to Blogger: How to Create and Publish Your First Post

When I began my blogging journey, I felt like a little cub trying to find my place in a big world. I had no experience, and I made many mistakes that seemed obvious once I figured things out. If you’ve ever started something new, you know how confusing it can be. You might wonder where to start, how to write your first post, and who will read what you have to say. That was me at the beginning, lost but curious, trying different websites and apps to see what would work.

At first, blogging felt like climbing a steep hill, full of surprises and challenges I wasn’t prepared for. I treated it like a hobby, but soon realized I needed to dig deeper to really make it work. I spent countless hours researching tips and tricks. I asked questions to tools like Copilot: What blogging platform should I use as a beginner? Where should I focus my content? What topics are trending right now? Most importantly, where could I find my audience, other people who shared my interests and were also looking for ways to earn extra income in a tough economy?

As time passed, my excitement grew when I learned that I could actually make money from blogging. I can Monetize my blog, with Google AdSense.

And yes, I chose Blogger as my platform. you might ask why Blogger? well, click on the link and it well tell you all about my reasons, Why Beginners Should Start Blogging with Blogger. I was amazed by how many free tools and features it offered that other platforms charged for. Blogger, owned by Google since 2003, it provided a fantastic support system, making it easy for beginners like me to get started.

Let me share some of the amazing benefits that Blogger provides for free:

1. Free Hosting: My blog was hosted on Google’s servers, which means I didn’t have to pay anything for hosting. Many other platforms have fees for this service, so it was a great help.

2. Free Subdomain: I got a free subdomain that looked like (yourblogname.blogspot.com). This made it easy for people to find my blog.

3. Unlimited Bandwidth: My blog could handle many visitors every day without slowing down. There were no limits on traffic, and I didn't have to worry about extra fees.

4. Built-In SEO Tools: One of the best features was the tools that help search engines find my blog. Blogger worked well with Google Search Console, allowing me to see how my blog was performing and helping my posts show up in Google search results.

5. Free HTTPS Encryption: Google took care of the security for my site, ensuring that it was safe and trustworthy without me having to do any complex setup.

6. Google Accounts Integration: I had easy access to important tools like Google Analytics and AdSense, enabling me to earn money through ads directly from my Blogger dashboard.

7. Free Templates and Theme Engine: Blogger provided many free templates, allowing me to customize my blog’s look without needing special design skills. There were also options for those who wanted to get advanced with HTML and CSS.

8. Content Management System: The easy-to-use post editor helped me add images, videos, and other content without any hassle, making it simple to create engaging articles.

With all these fantastic benefits, I decided it was time to take my blogging seriously. After just a week, I started thinking about how I could help other Papua New Guineans know about Blogger, how I can convince them, they can monetize and earn from Blogger too. Blogger was giving me all the tools I needed for free, and I wanted to help others see that they could do it too.

This was especially important for me because, in Papua New Guinea, there aren’t many opportunities to earn money online. I wanted to become a guide for others, showing them how to navigate the blogging world and find their own path to success.

Create Your First Post with Blogger

When you're starting to blog for the first time, it can feel overwhelming without any experience, guidance, or knowledge of where to begin. Let me walk you through 6 simple steps to help you write and publish your first post using Blogger.

As a beginner, you might be exploring your dashboard and discovering all the features the app offers. It may seem easier than it is, but once you understand what you’re doing, it will become more straightforward over time

Five (5) Important Points to Consider Before You Publish Your Post:

1. Be OriginalMake sure that what you write comes from your own thoughts and ideas. It’s important to avoid copying from others. When your content is original, it reflects who you are and helps build a connection with your readers.

2. Use Your Own WordsWrite in your unique voice. Instead of taking phrases or sentences from other sources, express your ideas in a way that feels natural to you. This shows your honesty and gives your work more value.

3. Organize Your Ideas: Take time to arrange your content in a clear and logical way. Break your writing into well-structured paragraphs that flow together. Use simple language that is easy for readers to understand. This makes it more enjoyable for them to read and encourages them to stay engaged.

4. Keep it Simple:While it can be tempting to use fancy words to sound smarter, it’s better to stick with simple and clear language. Your readers will appreciate that they don’t have to stop and look up difficult words, allowing them to focus on your message.

5. Be Clear and Straightforward: Aim to explain your ideas directly and without unnecessary details. By getting to the point quickly, you help your readers stay interested and make the most of their time with your content.
