With Google, Blogger is now a free and user-friendly platform that is perfect for beginners who want to start a blog. All blogs created on blogger are hosted by Google so if you have a Google account, you're already one step ahead! This guide will walk you through the first part of the process: creating your blog.
Step 1: Sign In to Blogger
Open your web browser and go to
www.blogger.com . or you can download the Blogger app on your Google Play Store. If you are not already signed in, you will be prompted to sign in with your Google account. Use the email and password for the Google account you want to use for your blog
Step 2: Create a New Blog
After you sign in, you'll see a page with a button that says "Create your blog", or you may see a list of your existing blogs. If you have no blogs yet, simply click the "Create a new blog" button.
The first thing you need to do is give your blog a title. This is the name that will appear at the top of your blog for your readers to see. It should be catchy and relevant/related to the topic you plan to write about/ the content you will be creating on your blog.
Type your desired title into the "Title" field. You can always change this later if you want.
Next, you need to choose a web address, or URL, for your blog. This is the address that people will type into their browser to find your blog (e.g., yourblogname.blogspot.com).
Type your desired address into the "Address" field.
As you type, Blogger will check if the address is available.
If it is available, you will see a checkmark next to the box. Once you find an available address, you are ready for the next step.
If the address is already taken, you will see a warning sign and will need to choose a different one. Try adding numbers or a different word to make it unique.
Blogger will then ask you to enter a display name. This is the name that will be shown to your readers next to your blog posts. It can be your real name, a nickname, or a pen name.
Step 6: Finalize and Create Your Blog
After you have entered a title, an available address, and a display name, click the "Finish" or "Create blog!" button.
Blogger will take a moment to set up your new blog. You will then be taken to your blog's dashboard, which is your control center.
